Life At Our House

I was talking with my girlfriend today on how difficult it is to get a decent Christmas photo when you’re involving kids…or more specifically, your own. Ugh!
My oldest has a habit of giving me the smile he thinks I want, which is far from natural. My middle child dislikes having his picture taken, which has proven to be a huge challenge. And finally, my youngest is perhaps the easiest to capture. She for the most part is indifferent to me having a camera attached to my face.
However, on this particular morning, I was able to capture the three of them giggling away. Once caught, my middle child covered his face and rolled away, complaining that he didn’t want his picture taken. He is usually too quick for me, but not that morning! And so, I was able to get his smiling face….and you’d never know (except for the fact that I’m telling you) that afterwards he repeated that he didn’t want his picture taken…he doesn’t want to be cute and doesn’t like pictures.
Life is so rough when you’re four.

A-dorable pictures…a-dorable kids
What wonderful pictures. I understand about “I don’t want my picture taken”. Being a photographer, I was always taking pics of my daughter (only have 1 child). I drove her crazy. I have so many pictures of her crying because she didn’t want her picture taken. What happen? I thought ALL children liked getting their picture taken? I’ve learned through the years they are all so different, but we love them just the same.
I enjoy your site. Hope all is well.
I think kids are the hardest subjects, and the easiest subjects to photograph, all rolled up into one.
