Peachy Birthday

I needed a simple birthday card and decided on this peach to help me.  This stamp set is called Fruitful from PaperTrey Ink.  For the peach I used Summer Sun and Groovy Guava ink (both Stampin Up).  It was a surprising color combo but worked well.  Thanks for looking!

Sweet Watermelon

Here is a fun watermelon die cut.  I used Doodlebug’s sugar coated card stock for the watermelon, nice and sparkly!  The watermelon is a Bosskut die and is a great size for cards or embellishments on scrap pages.  The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink and I used the large deckled rectangles (Nestabilities) for one of the layers.  The background was embossed with Swiss Dots (Cuttlebug embossing folder), ribbon is also PaperTrey Ink.

More New Releases

I hope you all had a nice 4th of July.  We had a busy but wonderful time with family and friends.  Here are several more new releases from Whipper Snapper Designs.  I used liquid applique on the reindeer card for the Santa costume and sponged white ink on the kraft card stock.  All images were colored with Copic markers and some were accented with a white gel pen.   The little angel is so sweet holding her star, don’t you think?  Thanks for looking!

Charlotte Ketto

Here is another Ketto stamp, this is Charlotte.  I’m thinking I could have done a much better job with this card, but the image is so sweet I decided to post it anyway.   She was colored with Copics, airbrushed, and accented with a white gel pen.  Thanks for looking!

Wasabi Ketto

I love Ketto stamps!  They are a newer line by Stamping Bella and are so sweet.  I ordered mine from Addicted to Rubber Stamps when they had a sale I couldn’t resist.

Wasabi is colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen and Spica glitter pens.  I used the black Spica pen for her hair.  You can’t see it in the picture, but it really added a nice touch.  DP is Rockabilly (recently retired from Stampin Up) and the twill ribbon is from PaperTrey Ink.  I am addicted to their twill ribbon, it ties so nicely and is excellent in quality.  I love that stuff.

Love Boot

Here are two of the new releases by Whipper Snapper Designs.  I really enjoyed making 60 samples for them these past two months!   Both images were colored with Copic markers and air brushed.  I sewed the boot card and then used a Copic to color match the thread.  It’s so much easier than finding the right color thread and then winding a bobbin for it.  Thanks for looking!

Freezer Paper Shirts

How fun is this?  I found a video (from the Cricut website) by a 12 year old girl (yeah, you heard right, 12 years old!) who gave a great tutorial on how to make shirts using your Cricut and freezer paper.  I didn’t have any fabric paint so I decided to try it by air brushing it with Copic markers.  Basically you cut the design out on freezer paper (shiny side up) then using a dry iron (no steam) iron the stencil on to your shirt (face down) and paint away.  The freezer paper will peel off once cool, though you’ll want to wait until the paint is dry.  What a fun way to customize pillow cases, tote bags, jeans, or whatever else makes you smile!

The green shirt I washed and dried in the dryer and it seemed to be okay.  It did fade a little bit so I would recommend letting it dry flat.  The white shirt I picked up today at Target and haven’t washed yet so we’ll see how it holds up.   I have seen lots of really creative shirts using this method and of course, I just had to try it!  Thanks for looking!

I’m Back!

I haven’t posted much lately, however, I’ve been busy making cards for the 2009 Fall/Winter release at Whipper Snapper Designs.  They launched their new stamps yesterday and I know you’ll like what you see.  I sure did!

Between the many birthdays and celebrations that June held, I was able to find time to make a card with this adorable image by Sugar Nellie Stamps.  It reminds me of the Holly Hobbie comforter set I used to have as a little girl.  Although you can’t see it in the picture, I used pink, gold and blue Spica glitter pens for some subtle sparkle.  The image was colored with Copic markers and then airbrushed to add some softness.  I tied the taffeta ribbon into a bow and used a few small squares of Scor Pal tape to hold the little loop in place.  DP is from K&Co and the card base and accent color are both from PaperTrey Ink.

Sweet Asian Doll – SC231

This card is for the Sketch Challenge over at SCS today.  I used some clear stamps by Hero Arts and kept it simple with a few Primas and ribbon.  I colored the image with Copic markers and accented her with Spica glitter pens.  The ribbon is Martha Stewart and the DP is from K&Co.  I like the colors in this card.  Thanks for looking!

Brown & Pink

This stamp set is from Tim Holtz and is one of his clear sets.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that the quality was pretty close to PaperTrey Ink, Kitchen Sink Stamps, and other companies who have high quality clear stamps.  I embossed the main image and then did lots of airbrushing and distressing.  Card base is DCWV and Pink Pirouette (Stampin’ Up).  Ribbon is from PaperTrey Ink and the flowers (Prima) and pearls (Martha Stewart) I picked up at Michaels.   Enjoy your week!
